New Year, New Farm (Pt 2)
It is two days until the New Year and I am once again trying to figure out how to explain to our amazing customers that we’re changing our farm… again.
Last year we moved completely away from egg birds and processed our last few pigs. We also continued our Whole Chicken CSA for its second year and processed both whole and parted chickens through the year.
Now as we move into 2026 it almost feels like we’re starting from scratch.
For the first year since we began Wilde Rose Farm, we will not be raising any animals for meat on the farm. In fact, we won’t be raising any animals at all.
That’s right, we’ll be all insects all the time.
It has taken six years and a heck of a lot of experimenting but we’ve found the farming niche that we absolutely love and it is honeybees and all things honey!
It has been an absolute privilege to feed you and your families over the last few years and it is possible we’ll come back to meat animals again in the future.
But for the foreseeable future we will be focusing all our attention on the honeybee side of the business.
We’ll be continuing with our signature Raw Honey, infused honeys, and 100% beeswax candles
We are also so excited to introduce creamed honey and our hive management program.
It’s a new phase for us here at Wilde Rose Farm and we hope you’ll join us on this next adventure.
Happy New Year,
Sarah
